Built with the standard LF logo, appearing in white raised embrodiery on the navy cap and Lafayette stitched on the rear, the real story is the side patch. The New York skyline is embroidered budding from the state's official flower, the rose. A banner with "Excelsior" and NYC are included below the rose, giving the cap its finishing touches.
