Lafayette pay homage to the history of New York with their latest AW12 59Fifty. The fitted dubbed "New Amsterdam" is a tribute to the original name of the southern tip of Manhattan Island which served as the capital city of New Netherland. The Dutch had colonised the east coast of America and made it part of the Republic of the Seven United Netherlands.
It wasn't until 1667 that it was renamed "New York" after the Duke of York, who later became King James II of England, when the British took control of Manhattan and the rest of the Dutch colony.
The cap features the trademark Lafayette model; a navy blue base, white "LF" front logo and "Lafayette" on the rear. The Dutch Republic flag is included as a side patch and the cap is finished with a grey underbrim. Available now on Lafayette's webstore http://www.lafayettecrew.jp.
